The Australian Red Cross Blood Service (ARCBS) and Armidale Donor Centre provide a regular Mobile Blood Service at Glen Innes with the generous support of Glen Innes District Health Service and the Glen Innes local community.

The Federal Government has declared 2009 the Year of the Blood Donor (YOBD). Throughout this special year, the ARCBS will honour and acknowledge the generosity of our blood donors, thanking them for their commitment to giving blood and to helping save the lives of people in communities across Australia. The YOBD will also provide the ARCBS with a unique opportunity to encourage more Australians to regularly give blood and to raise awareness of the ongoing and growing need for blood and blood products nationally.
